Nikos Koundouros

A famous director, the greek Nikos Koundouros was born in Crete in 1926, and he studied at Athens school of Fine arts, sculpture and painting.

Due to his political belief, he was exiled on Makronissos Island.

Later he decides to follow a carrer in filmaking and in 1953 he produce his first film ” The magic city”, followed in 1956 by “The Dragon” which will bring him fame, by being a one of a kind amongst the greek films.

In 1963 he releases another hit: “The young Aphrodite” which brings him some awards.

In the years to follow he creates other amazing movies which put him in a special place in the best films of all time category.
